With origins dating back to the early 1800’s, the Pudelpointer has been a consistent top performer in all facets of a versatile hunting dog.
The Pudelpointer has strong prey drive on both feathered and furred game. While capable of hunting full days in the fields or woods, they are easily capable of waiting quietly in the duck blind or at the foot of the wood stove at the end of a hard day. Equally as important is the dog’s ability to track and locate wounded big game that has travelled far prior to expiring.
We are a small family kennel located in the green mountains of Vermont next to Lake Champlain. All dogs in our breeding program are tested and approved for breeding by der Verein Pudelpointer, the original German breed club responsible for the creation and development of the breed for the past 120 years.
We have a shared goal with our puppy owners in that we are passionate hunters.
As such, we need a dog that is capable of hunting with intensity and focus throughout the day. Also, we hunt a variety of game including ruffed grouse, woodcock, snowshoe hare, ducks, geese, deer, moose and caribou. Our dogs need to be able to adapt in accordance with the targeted game.
When the season is over, the dog is asked to assume its role as a member of the family. With small children ourselves, it is extremely important that the temperament of the dog be suitable for a family environment. In our experience, the Pudelpointer is a breed that delivers on all fronts expected.
Eager to please, yet strong minded and willed, the Pudelpointer is an ideal choice for the versatile sportsman and sporting family.
